What is special about Daily High School?

We have invited Dr. Valdes to be our speaker and provide more information about Daily High School. We recently offered scholoarships to students from Daily High School and several members enjoyed hearing a little bit about the school from the assistant principal, but it sparked interest to learn more about this hight school and all it's achievments.
Dr. Valdes began his career as a Special Education teacher at Glendale High School. In 2007, he served as the dean of attendance at Glendale High School before being selected as an assistant principal at Glendale High School in 2008. In 2012, he was promoted to associate principal at Crescenta Valley High School and then two years later as principal of Daily High School, Jewel City Community School, and Verdugo Academy. After serving GUSD as the director of Student Support Services in 2017, he moved to the Covina Valley Unified School District as a director in 2018 for both Student Services and Special Education.
Dr. Valdes received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) in 1994. He received a master’s degree in Special Education from CSULA and his doctorate in education from the University of Southern California in K-12 Educational Leadership.

Individual Attention: Daily serves up to approximately 200 to 250 students. The traditional high schools in Glendale Unified serve 2,000 to 3,000 students each
