16 Oct. 2026 Karine Grigorian Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) Oct. 16, 2026 7:00 a.m. The Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a partnership between government, education, businesses and our community. Community leaders established GYA in 1993 with a mission to provide jobs and employment preparedness training for low-income youth ages 14-24. Glendale Youth Alliance currently operates six programs on a spectrum that provide mentored employment to youth. These range from a program that gives subsidized jobs to the youngest youth who have never held a job, to a program for older youth who are ready to secure unsubsidized employment. GYA programs make special efforts in assisting youth with further barriers to employment such as foster youth, youth with disabilities, parenting youth and youth who are on probation. These groups generally have a harder time in entering the workforce. GYA not only provides employment opportunities for these youth, but comprehensive services to meet their human needs.

Hailing from Boston, MA, Drew is a man of many passions, with a master’s degree in creative writing and a bachelor’s degree in theatre and communications. Drew began his fundraising career in the performing arts before transitioning to higher education and youth programs. Now, he’s proud to advocate for an organization with a mission he truly believes in and to be a part of a dedicated team that’s committed to ending America’s youth homelessness crisis. When he’s not talking about Covenant House, you can find Drew performing in regional theatre around L.A, cheering on his beloved Red Sox, practicing guitar, or spending time with his wife, Ashley, to whom he just got married to last July. Please feel free to reach out any time to learn more about Covenant House (even if you’re a Yankees fan). Covenant House California is a full-service shelter and non-profit that provides wrap-around care to young people experiencing homelessness. We have 5 shelters throughout the state, where we provide workforce training, education, food, access to physical and mental health treatment, warm clothes, a bed, and a place to be loved for who you are. Our motto is “we meet you where you’re at.” Inspired by faith, we’ve been helping young people since 1988, driven by the belief that no young person should be without a home. 50% of the adult homeless population first experienced homelessness before the age of 25. We believe we can break that cycle through community outreach and extensive care.
